Protracted power-train supply problems following the merger of the European manufacturing interests of GM and FIAT led us to look elsewhere. We took advantage of the hiatus to completely re-engineer the car for a new - and better - drive-train.

The final production version of the new car is powered by the Audi 1.8 litre, 4-cylinder, 5-valve, 6-speed drive train.

Using the standard turbo, the motor produces 225 - 265bhp.Cosworth Technology, our engineering support partners, have re-calibrated the motor, and a more powerful version is now available that increases the output to over 300bhp. The vehicle weighs approximately 680Kg, power to weight figures of 500bhp per tonne are possible.

The new car was launched at AUTOSPORT INTERNATIONAL 2005, the UK's premier motor-sport and sports car show. Following the release it will be featured in leading UK magazines and TV motoring programmes during 2005.

Performance is absolutely stunning. We have been testing the pre-production version of the machine for several months. Handling is totally predictable, with no hint of 'lift-off-oversteer', so often a problem with mid / rear engined cars.
