Based on the BMW R 1150R, the Trike 1150R is another Steve Harper design, but much more futuristic and sporty than the original Trike 1200C. Lithe and aggressive-looking, it features dual Ducati-style carbon fibre exhausts which exit below the seat. Again, Steve's work blends perfectly with the styling of the R 1150R to produce an appealing and coherent whole which looks like the Bavarian original.

Mechanically - apart from its more powerful engine - the machine is similar to the Trike 1200C, with sophisticated double-wishbone rear suspension mounted on a light but torsionally rigid space frame sub-chassis which replaces the standard rear end, and uses the same mounting points.

The Trike 1150R is available fully assembled onto a new or good pre-owned bike supplied by us, it can be factory assembled onto your own R 1150R, or supplied in kit form. Build time is around 30 hours, and the Trike 1150R can be converted back into a two-wheeler, as and when required, in about the same time.

The Trike 1150R boasts a sporting but comfortable ride, safe, precise handling, and more performance than its laid-back sibling. The Trike 1150R can be ridden on a car licence, so a motorcycle test is not required. It can also be legally ridden without a crash helmet if you so wish, though this is not something we recommend.
